🎯 Our Objectives
Omid Watan Social and Educational Organization (OWSEO) is an independent, non-governmental, and non-profit organization committed to providing essential social and educational services in both rural and urban areas of Afghanistan. Regardless of political, ethnic, regional, religious, racial, or linguistic backgrounds, OWSEO aims to enhance the quality of life, improve literacy levels, strengthen economic capacities, and contribute to the overall prosperity, development, reconstruction, and improvement of public infrastructure in Afghanistan.
🤝 Social Objectives
The Afghan community heavily depends on agriculture, livestock, and remittances. However, food insecurity, drastic climate changes, natural disasters, and prolonged conflict have damaged infrastructure and displaced large rural populations. These challenges have forced many farmers off their land, reducing agricultural productivity, increasing food prices, lowering livestock value, and resulting in widespread unemployment.
Through its work with vulnerable and marginalized populations, OWSEO has developed specialized strategies and priorities to address these issues effectively.

- Delivering sustainable solutions for water, sanitation, and hygiene needs.
- Implementing development programs for underprivileged groups, including women, youth, children, the jobless, and the homeless.
- Supporting artistic, cultural, and sports-related development initiatives.
- Offering vocational workshops and trainings to empower women and orphans through financial independence.
- Providing emergency aid and shelters for those affected by natural disasters and human-made crises.
- Collecting and distributing second-hand or surplus humanitarian supplies to families in need.
- Operating a Mobile Clinic to offer primary healthcare support in remote areas.
- Receiving and distributing Zakat, Qurbani, and other charitable donations.
- Supporting community-based enterprises to increase productivity, reduce poverty, and generate sustainable income.
📚 Educational Objectives
Afghanistan’s education system has been severely disrupted by over three decades of conflict. An estimated 3.7 million children remain out of school, 60% of whom are girls. These educational gaps result from prolonged conflict, inaccessibility, poverty, and social inequalities.
OWSEO has developed a community-based, holistic education model that engages local communities and removes barriers to education by addressing underlying challenges such as illiteracy, gender inequality, and economic hardship.

- Establishing community-based literacy initiatives in partnership with local schools and volunteers, focusing on improving reading skills in native languages.
