Message from the Director

The humanitarian situation in Afghanistan in 2025 remains deeply challenging and complex. Years of conflict, political instability, economic hardship, and recurring natural disasters have left millions of people in urgent need of support. Today, more than half of our population struggles to meet basic needs such as food, clean water, shelter, and access to essential services. The return of hundreds of thousands of Afghan refugees from neighboring countries has further increased pressure on already limited resources, leaving vulnerable communities in an even more fragile state.

Amid these challenges, Omid Watan Social and Educational Organization (OWSEO) has remained steadfast in its mission since its founding in 2022: to bring hope, education, and relief to those most in need. From the beginning, OWSEO has been guided by the

belief that education is the key to lasting change—a tool that can break cycles of poverty, empower communities, and build a stronger future for our country. Alongside education, we provide humanitarian assistance to help families survive the difficulties of today while preparing them for a better tomorrow.

Our work focuses on children, women, and marginalized families, with particular attention to those living in rural and underserved areas. In our education centers, more than 370 children most of them girls receive literacy, language, and vocational training. We operate sewing workshops for young women, distribute food and clothing to impoverished households, open clean water wells in communities without access, and provide seasonal assistance during Ramadan and Eid. Every project we undertake is driven by compassion, sustainability, and a commitment to human dignity.

As we look ahead to 2025 and beyond, OWSEO’s strategic priorities include:

  • Expanding access to quality education for children in remote areas.
  • Strengthening women’s skills and livelihoods through vocational training.
  • Providing clean water and sanitation facilities to improve community health.
  • Delivering emergency food and shelter support to vulnerable families.
  • Promoting social awareness through storytelling, dialogue, and community engagement.

We are proud of our achievements so far, but we know that the road ahead requires continued dedication, innovation, and partnership. Our growing network of supporters in Afghanistan, Türkiye, and beyond is a vital force in helping us expand our reach.

In 2025, OWSEO will continue to respond to urgent humanitarian needs while investing in long-term solutions that empower individuals and strengthen communities. Together—with our dedicated volunteers, generous donors, and committed partners—we can bring hope where it is needed most and create opportunities for a brighter, more resilient Afghanistan.

Sincerely,
Ehsanullah Saraisangi
