🎓 A Safe Learning Space for Underserved Communities
In partnership with KYDD, OWSEO established a fully-equipped community education center in Gunbad Village, designed to meet the educational needs of underserved children and youth. The center offers daily instruction in:
- 🔢 Numeracy and foundational mathematics
- 🌍 International languages (English and Turkish)
- 📖 Basic literacy and personal development
The facility provides a safe and supportive environment where students can learn, grow, and gain confidence—especially girls and children from vulnerable families.
👧 Focus on Girls’ Education
Despite growing demand and limited resources, enrollment has been maintained at 370 students aged 7 to 14, with a strong emphasis on girls’ education—70% of students are girls.
- 🏫 Last year, 21 girls transitioned into public schools after completing literacy courses at the center.
- 🎯 In total, over 100 students have successfully returned to school through OWSEO’s remedial programs and mentorship initiatives.
🌱 Environmental Awareness: “Each Student, One Sapling”
To promote environmental responsibility and climate awareness, OWSEO launched the “Each Student, One Sapling” campaign:
- 🌳 370 trees were planted in Gunbad Village and at Saraisang Girls’ High School.
- 🌎 Students learned about sustainability and took part in restoring green spaces.
- 💡 The initiative fostered a hands-on sense of stewardship and long-term care.
💬 Community Impact and Recognition
The center has become a social and educational hub for the village, particularly for adolescent girls. Parents and elders regularly express gratitude for:
- Prioritizing girls’ education in a safe, respectful environment
- Offering quality instruction and essential resources
- Empowering local youth through a culture of volunteerism and equity
🌟 “At OWSEO, we believe education is the key to building resilient communities. Even in the most remote areas, we continue to deliver opportunity, dignity, and lasting transformation.”
