| Providing shelter to a fully disabled family: OWSEO received a request to assist a disabled widow and her four disabled sons. After a thorough assessment, we shared the findings with our funding sources. The family’s home, consisting of two deteriorating rooms, was on the verge of collapse. Due to safety concerns, they often slept outside, even in harsh weather, and sought refuge with neighbors during heavy rains. They survived by collecting and selling thorns from the mountains and relying on local charity. OWSEO reconstructed the rooms using durable local materials, from the foundation to the ceiling, and furnished the home. Now, the family has a safe and warm place to live with two secure rooms. |
